BACKGROUND
Today, we Muslims in this country are weak, freak, voiceless, powerless, fragmented, disjointed, dysfunctional, tangential, marginalized and left behind in all facet of life because of our disunity. What will the future be for Muslims of tomorrow? Our passion to seek for a positive answer to this question with a sense of urgency is the reason for our projects.
HISTORY
Historically, the project was initiated by Mr Abdulsalam Mohammed Daaru (Yaa-Salam) the CEO of Yaa-salam Publishers in 2008 as a participant in the first ever Islamic TV Reality show in West Africa dubbed ‘’Annujum” organised by TACHAF (The Abdul-Aziz Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation) broadcasted on Net 2 TV. It was then that Abdulsalam Mohammed chose the agenda of Islamic Unity and issues affecting the Muslim Ummah as his special project. Even before the reality show kicks off, the passion and the enthusiasm in Abdulsalam Mohammed was so strong that he had to kick start his project with a special amateur documentary where he interviewed five special Imams/scholars of various Muslim groupings in Ghana as follows:
  • Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, The National Chief Imam Of Ghana,
  •  Sheikh Mohammed Salis Shaban, Tijaniya Sufi Cleric Of Ghana,
  • Sheikh Hajj Umar Ibrahim, Imam Of Ahlusunna Waljamah/Wahabiya,
  •  Sheikh Abdulsalam Bansi (Belated) The Then Imam Of Shia Muslim Community In Ghana,
  •  Imam Maulvi Wahab Adam, The Ameer and Missionary In charge Of Ahmadiya Muslim mission of Ghana.
The above mentioned scholars all appended their signatories and blessing to a special Pact Paper bearing the inscription ‘’ Ghana Muslims on the move to unity’ ’The interview was so inspiring and revealed that Muslims in this country would be better people when they unite. It was acknowledged by all aforementioned scholars that the issue of unity of Muslims is a compulsory command of Allah. However, differences of opinion do not constitute division.
